The Festival that spreads the
Brazilian animation and World,
in center of Brazil.

The Festival made its debut on the world calendar in 2017, and is currently a Camila NunesHead of the Festival with the Goiás production company Baloo Filmes.

The programming is based on three main axes; first the da display, which includes competitive and non-competitive exhibitions; the second axis being that of market, covered by the Lanterna Film Market, which contains case studies, lectures and debates, in addition to promoting meetings between producers, distributors and animators, the third axis is centered on Lanterna Educa which includes exhibitions aimed at public schools, in addition to training activities, such as workshops and debates, aimed at the general public.

It also includes the único laboratory of projects exclusively for animation, the Animated Projects Hospital

 

The films selected at the festival undergo rigorous curation and are awarded by jurors and the public.


The event promotes the Brazilian and global animation market, boosting the local and international scene.

The Lanterna Film Market is a crucial part of the festival, bringing together industry professionals for case studies, inspiring talks and enriching debates.

This space facilitates meetings between producers, distributors and animators, promoting partnerships and business opportunities that boost the animation industry.

TRAINING

Lanterna Educa focuses on activities aimed at training and training new talents. Includes special displays for public schools and a variety of workshops and debates that address different aspects of animation production.

It seeks to encourage interest in animation from an early age and offer resources for development.

The 6th edition of Lanterna Mágica – International Animation Festival aims to
main to promote and publicize the Brazilian and global animation market.


The event took place from March 19 to 24, 2024, at CineX, in the vibrant city of Goiânia, Goiás.

During these days, the public was able to watch a careful selection of short and feature films, which were subjected to a rigorous curation process by experts in the field, Camila Nunes and Iuri Moreno.


The films in competition are evaluated by an official jury and the public present, guaranteeing a diverse and democratic evaluation.

This edition's award categories included:

Best Film (Official Jury), Best Film (Popular Jury), Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Art Direction, Best Sound Design, Best Musical Score, Best Animation Technique, Best Film by the Press.

Located in the geographic center of Brazil, the festival not only celebrates the animation of Goiás,
but it also connects Brazilian animation to the world stage, strengthening culture and the animation industry in the country.

This cultural diffusion movement is gaining strength and transforming Goiânia into an important animation hub, attracting talents and enthusiasts from all over the world.
